NOPD identifies suspect in Algiers shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police have identified a man they believe was involved in an Algiers shooting.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on November 18 police responded to a call for a shooting in the 5900 block of Tullis Drive.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

Witnesses told police they heard gunshots and then saw the victim running toward the location, where he collapsed.

Police have named Christopher Butler, 27, as a suspect. Witnesses positively identified Butler as being involved in the incident.

An arrest warrant was issued for Butler for attempted second-degree murder and intimidating, impeding, or injuring witnesses.
