NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The driver of a luxury sports car involved in a high-speed crash that killed his passenger appeared before a judge Friday morning.
Friday the lead detective investigating the case took the stand saying Adams told a police after the crash, he had two cocktails and prescribed Zoloft in his system when the accident happened.
The NOPD detective testified that the toxicology tests taken on Adams after the wreck confirmed he had the anti-depressant in his system.
Kristi Lirette's family has committed to being at every hearing.
Her father says they have yet to hear from Adams personally about their daughters' death.
"He's in an awful spot," Lirette said.
"Honestly our family feels for him, we really do, we would hope that he would step up to the plate and hold himself accountable for what happened, but he's gonna work the justice system like anybody else would."
Adams will be back in court on Dec. 14.
