NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Pelicans went on a late run and pulled within striking distance of the Oklahoma City Thunder, but could not keep the momentum going, falling in Sunday's road contest, 101-92.

It was the second-consecutive loss for the Pelicans (7-14), who dropped a home contest to the Los Angeles Clippers Friday night.

The Thunder (13-8) were led by Russell Westbrook, who recorded a triple-double with 28 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists. Enes Kanter came off of the bench, tallying 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Pelicans were led by Anthony Davis, who had a game-high 37 points to go along with 15 rebounds and four blocks. Buddy Hield came off of the bench and nailed 4-of-7 from behind the arc, finishing with 16 points.

New Orleans returns home Monday hosting Southwest Division foe Memphis. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the Smoothie King Center.
