Tulane women fall short at Vanderbilt

(WVUE) -

Tulane held a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter at Vanderbilt but couldn't close the game out against a very tough Commodore team. Kolby Morgan led the Lady Wave with 34-points but she needed some help as Vandy won 74-63 inside Memorial Gym on Monday night. Two days after being held scoreless for the first time of her career, Morgan recorded a career high 34 points on 14-of-26 shooting from the field, with a 5-for-9 mark from three-point range.

“Obviously, this was a disappointing loss,” Tulane head coach Lisa Stockton said. “We really battled in the first half. We have been challenging our team defensively and rebounding wise to step up and do a better job. I thought we did that in the first half but just let our guard down a little bit and then just couldn’t make shots.”

The loss dropped Tulane to 5-3 on the season. They'll conclude their three-game road swing with a trip to Baton Rouge to face LSU on Sunday.
