GRETNA, LA (WVUE) - Sheriff Normand expressed anger and disappointment in certain members of the community who apparently sent explicit messages to some black leaders.
During the press conference, he read excerpts targeting those who supported the sheriff's call for calm during the investigation including West Bank Councilman Mark Spears.
"I'm sure you see the emotion in me because it's not fair. It's not fair for him to be called 'you punk a.. Uncle tom c..n. We saw you sell out to them you rat a.. Fa...t punk.'
"That's the tone of what we're calling our elected leaders for standing up and simply saying let justice prevail and let the process take its course.
"To go on to say 'you a.. Kissing fa...t that has done little to our community all we know is that you are a bitch puppet. You rat a.. Looking c..n on tv I bet they made you say that puppet boy. I know what I see, I know that Normand is a piece of sh.. And you stood behind that white boy, that bullsh.. Ni.... You won't even stand with your people, you self-serving son of a b....'
"Really! And the tone of these go on and on," Normand said.
Normand specifically thanked Spears, Louisiana State Senator Troy Carter, and Louisiana State Representative Jimmy Harris for their support during this investigation.
