NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department says they have made two arrests in a shooting and attempted armed robbery of a man in August.
Police say 21-year-old Lionel Cowart and 23-year-old Marlon Cooper were apprehended by the Violent Offenders Warrant Squad Wednesday.
The incident happened on August 17 outside of the Quicky's convenience store in the 1500 block of Franklin Avenue.
According to investigators, the victim had gotten into an argument with an unknown male. The suspect then pulled out a gun and demanded the victim's belongings. The victim attempted to grab the gun and was shot in the leg during a brief struggle.
Cowart and Cooper have been booked with attempted robbery and aggravated battery by shooting.
