NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Lady Gaga opens up about her struggles with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
In a letter posted on her foundation's website Wednesday, she says it's a "daily effort" to stay calm during her normal day activities.
The musician revealed her PTSD diagnosis to a group of LGBT people at Harlem's Ali Forney Center for homeless in New York. The musician was raped when she was 19.
"Medication helps me to calm down," said Gaga.
The 30-year-old says she is "continuing to learn how to transcend" the condition. She wants to lend support to everyone suffering from PTSD because she says "no one's invisible pain should go unnoticed."
Amy Schumer could play Barbie
Comedian Amy Schumer has a few words for those who feel she should not play "Barbie" in an upcoming live-action film. Variety reported last week that Schumer was in talks to play the Mattel doll.
In the movie, Barbie is kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect enough and goes on an adventure in the real world.
Earlier this week, the comedian posted a picture of herself in a bathing suit on Instagram. She says to those who have attempted to fat shame her have failed because she knows she is not fat and has "zero shame" in her game.
Schumer says the backlash is a clear reason she's a "great choice" to play an "important and evolving icon."
