NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A motorcyclist who went into Lake Pontchartrain after rear-ending a vehicle on the Causeway Saturday has been identified.

According to Causeway Police, the motorcyclist was riding northbound on the Causeway around 11:30 p.m. when he crashed into the back of an SUV. The motorcycle is registered to 35-year-old Michael Fenner, whom police assume was the man who was ejected and went into the lake, according to Causeway GM Carlton Dufrechou. A search for Fenner by the Coast Guard  was unsuccessful.

Fenner's address of record is in Trenton, N.J., but his parents live in Mandeville.
