NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - An upper-level disturbance interacting with a cool front brought showers and thunderstorms to the area. As the front moves off the coast by Wednesday morning, rain will end and by the end of the day we should see some sunny breaks.
On Wednesday, highs will be nearly 15 degrees cooler in the middle 60's. A second push of drier air arrives Thursday allowing for sunshine and another drop in temperatures. Highs will be in the mid-50's.
Then, we warm up quickly. Friday, temperatures return to the 60's during the afternoon and we could push near 80 again on Saturday. A cold front will bring rain and much colder temperatures on Sunday with readings dropping into the 40's by evening.
