NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting on Bourbon Street that happened early Sunday morning.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Bourbon St.

According to police, the victim, a 20-year-old male in a wheelchair, and his friends were involved in a physical altercation when someone pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the abdomen. He was taken to University Hospital where his condition is currently unknown.

Since the shooting, police have released a picture of a person of interest in the shooting. They believe that this person may have some critical information about the shooting.
