Donut Shop Employees Held Up at Gunpoint

(WVUE) - "He pulled out a gun and he said i want the cash in the register."

Surveillance cameras captured the moment a gunman barged into Daddy's Donuts in Gentilly and held up two women, a manager and another employee.

The manager, who asked not to be identified, said the armed robber first encountered her employee.

The manager was crouched down below the counter.

"At that point the girl looked at me and said 'we're getting robbed right now,' so I wouldn't come up and scare the guy," she said.

The manager says the man, wearing a fisherman's hat, a red shirt and blue jeans, got away with about $130 dollars.

She's just thankful no one was hurt.

"When it happened we both hugged each other and said we just thankful we didn't get shot and that we worked together and we stayed calm and we just appreciate each other better now."

It happened as they were closing up shop around lunch time on Tuesday.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
