NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Pelicans forward Quincy Pondexter's recovery from a left knee injury suffered at the end of the 2015 season has taken another step back as the 28-year-old underwent surgery Wednesday morning. The arthroscopic procedure was successful but a timetable for his return is unknown.

Pondexter was originally drafted by New Orleans before being traded to Memphis, only to be traded back to his original organization during the 2014-15 season, when he contributed to the Pelicans' playoff appearance. He has not played since.

For his career, the defensive ace averages 5.3 points per game on 42.4% shooting from the field. He is under contract with the Pelicans through the 2017-18 season.
