FIRST ALERT WEATHER

Heat, humidity will grow slowly

CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

After a great day with a fresh breeze, lower humidity and plenty of blue sky, the Tri-State is in for a return to reality.

Heat and humidity will gradually increase through the week, and an extended heat wave appears headed this way.

Overnight clouds will increase a bit, and for the morning commute there will be a few showers in the FOX19 NOW viewing area -- mainly south of the city.

A few showers could pop up during the day but they will be isolated.

Humid weather returns Tuesday with dew points back into the 70s and temperatures in the upper 80s.

Rain arrives late Tuesday, but especially Wednesday. Wednesday could bring heavy rain and stronger thunderstorms.

After a brief (but much needed) break from the 90s, the heat returns Thursday and into the weekend with another heat wave in the forecast.
