Southeastern Louisiana rallied from a four-run deficit Sunday at Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola, topping Troy, 5-4, to complete a weekend sweep of the field at the Cox Diamond Invitational.

The Lions (7-4) wrapped up the weekend undefeated thanks in part to its biggest rally of the season and completed its 8-game road trip with a 5-3 record.

The first four batters of the game singled off Southeastern starting pitcher Kade Granier, staking the Trojans (6-5) to an early lead. Granier walked the next batter, right fielder Mason Rogers, to force in a run. Troy picked up another run on a double-play ball, one of three the Lions would turn in the game.

A junior from Destrehan, Louisiana, Granier settled in after a rough initial frame to work six innings, his longest outing of the season.

Bryce Tassin (2-1) earned the win, working two scoreless innings in relief of Granier. The redshirt freshman from Walker, Louisiana, surrendered one hit and one walk, striking out one batter.

Southeastern returns home to host West Virginia in a pair of midweek contests Tuesday and Wednesday.

It's only one of 82 games, so not time to freak out yet, but the Pelicans looked unimpressive in their 103-91 loss to the Grizzlies. The Pelicans were without the services of Rajon Rondo with a sports hernia injury, and they could of used him. The Pels bench only contributed eight points on the evening. By comparison the Grizzlies bench dropped in 53 points. Boogie Cousins and Anthony Davis combined for 61 points. The rest of the starters for New Orleans, only put up 22 points. ...more>>

When a star quarterback goes down with an injury like Aaron Rodgers did Sunday against Minnesota, other star quarterbacks take notice. "That's a really unfortunate injury. The guy was playing phenomenal, and that's really tough," said Saints quarterback Drew Brees. But the show must go on, and the Packers will now turn to Brett Hundley. He's not Rodgers, but that doesn't mean he can't be effective. "You understand that Brett Hundley has been behind Aaron for the last...

For the first time since 2013, the Saints record sits over .500. The Saints are riding a 3-game winning streak into Green Bay this Sunday. Drew Brees and the offense are doing what they do, score a lot of points. But the big story with the Black and Gold is the defense. They scored three touchdowns against Detroit. It took the unit 74 games combined to get three defensive scores before Sunday. Brees likes the position of his team right now, but there's still a lot of football left i...more>>
