(WVUE) -

The Saints have tendered wide receiver Willie Snead, a source confirmed to FOX 8 sports Tuesday. The tender is one year deal reportedly worth $615,000. As an exclusive rights free agent, the Saints were the only team Snead could negotiate with.

As FOX 8 sports first reported, both sides, however, have had productive talks about reaching a long term deal. The tender essentially takes Snead off the market and negotiations can continue.

Snead has had two very productive seasons in New Orleans. In 2016, he finished with 895 yards and four touchdowns.
