(WVUE) - A cold front crossed the area overnight and is continuing to push any potential rain offshore.
A little mist and low-level cloud cover may linger early in the morning, but dry skies are expected the rest of Wednesday.
Temperatures will likely stay in the 60s with a mix of clouds and sun. Areas north of Lake Pontchartrain are more likely to see more sunshine. As winds quickly return to an easterly/southeasterly flow, gulf moisture will return and allow for a few stray showers possible.
Shower chances will increase Friday and Saturday with a 40 to 60 percent chance both days.
A stronger disturbance will bring heavier rain and storms Saturday night through Sunday morning.
