(WVUE) - LSU has not had much success traveling west lately. The Tigers' traveled to Lake Charles Wednesday night and lost to McNeese, 5-4, on the heels of losing two games in a weekend tournament in Houston.
A day after the Tigers' contest against San Diego was rained out, they struggled to get runners home as 12 hits only led to four runs. Meanwhile, the Cowboys' seven hits produced the necessary five runs.
Paul Mainieri used six different pitchers on the night with Zach Hess lasting the longest, giving up three earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched.
Up next for LSU, a weekend series against Wichita State, the program they defeated to win the College World Series in both 1991 and 1993. First pitch Friday is set for 7 PM.
