Report: Saints consider trading Brandin Cooks to New England

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Saints are reported to be considering a trade with the New England Patriots involving Brandin Cooks.

ESPN reporter Dianna Russini tweeted the Saints would send Cooks to the Super Bowl champions in exchange for Malcolm Butler a top cornerback.

With the Patriots in the process of signing Buffalo Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore, moving Butler for an offensive playmaker could be possible.

His status was also officially changed from 'reserved/injured' to 'designated to return.'
