FOURCHON, LA (WVUE) - A Lafayette man is behind bars after police say he was in possession of child pornography.
According to Louisiana State Police, troopers with the Criminal Investigations Division-Houma Office arrested 42-year-old Michael Harper of Lafayette.
Harper was in possession of child pornography while in Lafourche Parish.
On March 8, investigators with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the United States Customs and Border Protection Agency received information that Harper was in possession of child pornography.
During an interview with Harper, troopers and federal agents determined that his computer contained videos and images depicting the sexual abuse of children.
Harper was also discovered to be in possession of Hydrocodone pills, Marinol pills, Adderall pills and Xanax.
Troopers charged Harper with 12 Counts of Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance II, Possession of CDS III and Possession of CDS V. Harper was booked at the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office.
Homeland Security Investigations seized Harper's computer equipment for further analysis. The arrest remains under investigation.
