METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - State police said that a Destrehan man died after a car crash on Airline Drive Monday morning.
According to investigators, Theodore Miestchovich, 88, was entering Airline Drive north at North Cumberland Street in Metairie before 11 a.m. When he got to the left hand lane, a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo hit him. That car was driven by Larry Everson, 28, of Metairie. Both Everson and his passenger Davianna Stokes, 20, were taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries. Police said both neither was wearing a seat belt.
State Police said Miestchovich's car was spun around, and it ended up hitting two parked cars. It was thrown across the median and into the southbound lanes of Airline Drive.
Miestchovich was wearing a seat belt and pronounced dead on the scene.
