The Saints addition of Alex Okafor reunites the former Texas Longhorn with an old friend. Okafor and Kenny Vaccaro were teammates in Austin and will now play together on the professional level.

"We are just best friends. We’ve been through so much at Texas (together)," Okafor said. "We were both captains on the team our senior year and we just kind of experienced the whole process together and stayed close and that’s my guy and I’m looking forward to going out there and competing with him again. I think we bring the best out of each other.”

In fact, it was Vaccaro that played a role in recruiting him to New Orleans.

"I talked to my agent and I talked to KV (Vaccaro) and said let’s make this thing happen, let’s make this thing go and things started heating up and we made it happen," Okafor said. "I’m excited, I think I’m in the perfect spot. I’m ready to go.”

Okafor reportedly signed a one-year deal with the club worth $3 million. His ability to pass the rusher off the edge is something the Saints have lacked for quite some time.

It's an ending that's still hard to comprehend. But lost in the aftermath of the Saints chaotic loss to the vikings Sunday was the fact that the Vikings still had to kick the extra point.
