METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - Plan for a chilly Wednesday as cold air continues to filter in from the north.
Temperatures will only rise into the mid to upper 50s Wednesday afternoon despite sunshine.
Overnight, expect lows in the 30s north of Lake Pontchartrain and 40s south of the lake.
While freezes are not expected, it is still possible some areas could see some patchy frost, especially near the Pearl River Basin.
Otherwise, it will be sunny and dry into Thursday with highs warming to the mid-60s.
The area looks to be mostly dry through the weekend but a weak front will try to knock temperatures back from near 80 degrees for highs on Saturday to the mid-70s and Sunday.
