(WVUE) -

After a very chilly start to Thursday morning, temperatures will rise to the mid-60s with sunshine. As southeasterly winds develop this evening, the warm-up will continue into the weekend.

Friday morning will start off slightly warmer with temperatures in the mid-40s on the north shore and mid-50s on the south shore. Then, temperatures will rise into the mid-70s under partly cloudy skies.

Saturday will feature temperatures near 80 degrees during the afternoon, but a weak cold front will cross the area early Sunday.

Moisture looks slim, so little if any rain is expected. Most of the cold air will pass to the east, so temperatures for Sunday will still be in the mid-70s.

Early next week temperatures will return to near 80 degrees during the afternoons.
