NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD located a missing NOPD canine Thursday night, a little less that 12 hours after he was last seen.
At about midnight, the male canine named "Spike" was placed in his kennel by his partner officer at the officer's home in the Pontchartrain Park neighborhood around SUNO. When the officer returned later that morning to feed Spike, he was not in his kennel. It was discovered that the canine had pulled a portion of the kennel apart, creating a small hole that allowed him to escape.
Several members of the NOPD Canine Unit conducted searches in the area around the officer's home, but did not find Spike until Thursday night just before 10 p.m.
