NOPD make 18 violent offender arrests in one week

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans police department made 18 arrests in one week. The arrests were made by NOPD officers and the department's Violent Offender Warrant Squad, between March 13 and March 17.

On Monday, four arrests were made, three were arrested the next day, five on Wednesday, two on Thursday and three on Friday.

The charges range from aggravated battery to attempted homicide. Below is the list of arrests.

March 13

Ferniqua Johnson: two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
Hitchai Bryant: two counts of aggravated battery and simple assault.
Darilyn Brousseau: aggravated battery by cutting.
Lisa Alexander: child desertion and a parole violation for theft.

March 14

Chris Hughes: attempted homicide.
Kenneth Alphonse: burglary.
Derrick Cobbins: burglary.
Dontrell Allen: aggravated battery by cutting.

March 15

Donald Hayes: in connection with a shooting on North Prieur.
Joshua Lee: aggravated assault with a firearm.
Teyantha Boyd: armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Jerome Johnson: attempted murder, armed robbery, and theft of a motor vehicle.
Michael Williams: convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

March 16

Howard King: sexual battery.
Iben Oneal: possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession of cocaine, illegal carrying of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

March 17

Butler Synder: armed robbery and simple criminal damage to property. 
Donlanda Lafrance: aggravated battery, aggravated assault and resisting an officer. 
Kristina Medina: aggravated battery by cutting.
