(WVUE) - The Saints are set to add their second linebacker of free agency on Tuesday when Manti Te'o will sign a contract from his home in San Diego, according to KHON in his hometown of Honolulu.
Te'o played four seasons for the Chargers after being drafted in the second round out of Notre Dame. He has yet to play a complete season and his 2016 campaign was cut short by a torn Achilles in week three. Prior to that, his best season statistically was 2015 when he recorded 83 tackles, forced a fumbled and intercepted a pass.
According to the report, Te'o is rehabilitating his injury in southern California and expects to be ready to participate in training camp. The Saints agreed to a deal with linebacker A.J. Klein on the first day of free agency and hosted Te'o the following day.
