NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - An explosive revelation came Monday from FBI director James Comey, when he not only confirmed that the agency is investigating possible links between Russia and the Trump campaign, he also rejected the president's claims that he was wiretapped by former President Barack Obama.
FOX 8 political analyst Mike Sherman said it's now up to Trump to explain to America what he meant by those wiretapping claims and answer the big question: Will he provide evidence?
"We came into the day thinking we had one big story - what's the evidence to support President Trump's claim that he was wiretapped by the Obama White House? We come out of the day without any evidence yet, but we now have a new story which is the FBI is now investigating and has been since July - potential collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign," Sherman said.
Trump tweeted Monday morning that "the Democrats made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a terrible campaign." In another tweet, the president said, "the real story that Congress, the FBI, and all others should be looking into is the leaking of classified information. "
