(WVUE) - After a flurry of moves in free agency, the Saints now have $5.9 million in cap space with 69 total contracts on the books, according to NFLPA records. That number does not reflect the reported two-year deal for linebacker Manti Te'o.
The Saints still have to sign their draft class and are in talks with New England about potentially trading for cornerback Malcolm Butler. This will cut into the Saints' space even more. However, the team will gain space in June when Jairus Byrd's contract comes off the books. They can also convert the roster bonuses of Terron Armstead and Max Unger to signing bonuses to create more space.
