(WVUE) - The Pelicans started their game Tuesday against the playoff-bound Grizzlies in sluggish fashion, thanks in part to Anthony Davis playing under the weather but they came out in the third quarter and strung together a 19-0 run en route to a 95-82.
DeMarcus Cousins stepped up with 41 points, the most he's tallied since being acquired by New Orleans and fourth most of the season. He also chipped in 17 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocks. Perhaps most impressive, he managed to avoid fouling out despite being called for his fifth personal of the night with over eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Davis finished with 19 points on 9-of-18 shooting while Jrue Holiday had 11 points on 5-of-17 shooting but only had 1 turnover to his 6 assists.
The Pelicans hit the road for three games, starting Friday at Houston.
