NOPD's V.O.W.S unit arrests three wanted suspects

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The NOPD's Violent Offender Warrant Squad along with NOPD officers and U.S. Marshals, apprehend three people who were wanted in connection with violent offenses.

V.O.W.S is a unit that is part of the NOPD's Special Operations Division. The unit is responsible for tracking down people who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending individuals with outstanding warrants.

Below is a list of recent arrests:

Daniel Carter, 23, second-degree murder and attempted second murder. The incident took place on January 9, 2017, in the 2500 block of New York Street and Carter was arrested today in Hammond, LA. 
Jeremy Francis, 21, aggravated assault with a firearm and criminal damage to property. Francis was apprehended today in Gretna, LA, for this incident, which occurred on February 16, 2017, in the 4600 block of Herschel Street.
Jerry Duplessis, 31, burglary and resisting an officer. The incident occurred in the 10500 block of Curran Boulevard on March 14, 2017. Duplessis was apprehended this morning in the 6000 block of Downman Road.
