NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The weekend will start with lots of sunny, dry and warm weather. Saturday looks great.
We expect big changes to occur on Sunday as a strong area of low pressure will move out of Texas during the day and storms will likely move in from the west by the afternoon. The rain will last into the overnight hours.
The threat for excessive rainfall and severe weather could be higher than Thursday's system. Pay close attention to the forecast over the next 48 hours as details become more clear.
Some storms may linger into the beginning of Monday with windy weather building in by the afternoon.
Dry and warm next Tuesday before another front arrives on Wednesday. This front will not likely bring severe weather but rather a few showers and storms before turning colder by Wednesday night.
Much cooler for Thursday and Friday with chilly temperatures at night in the 40s and 50s.
