CHALMETTE, LA (WVUE) - St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Deputies arrested a New Orleans man and charged him with two counts of attempted murder following an incident in Chalmette. The incident occurred Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Juno Drive.
Police say that 21-year-old Devin Thornsberry allegedly walked up to a 24-year-old woman who was holding her two-year-old niece. Thornsberry and the woman began arguing before Thornsberry fired one shot in the direction of the two females. The bullet missed the woman and the child but hit a window frame of a nearby home.
Thornsberry then left the scene but was later taken into custody at a nearby location. Police recovered the gun used in the shooting. No injuries were reported.
Thornsberry was taken to the St. Bernard Parish Prison where he was booked. A bond has not yet been set.
