NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - There is a risk for severe weather today and tonight. In addition there is a flash flood watch in effect until Monday morning. Some areas could receive 3-6" of rain and that would cause some flooding problems.
There is also a wind advisory and coastal flood advisory in effect for gusts over 40 mph at times and tides running 1-2 feet above normal.
For the rest of today, expect isolated storms across the area and some could be severe with large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.
Later tonight and into Monday morning a cold front will bring a better chance of more widespread rain and that's when the heavy rain threat will kick in.
