Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins combined for 71-points and 19-rebounds and it still wasn't enough to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Pelicans lost their home finale to the Denver Nuggets 134-131 and with the loss came an 'official' end to their playoff run.

Cousins had a late three-pointer to tie the game at 131-apiece and they had a chance to win it late. But, a pair of turnovers by point guard Jrue Holiday sealed the Pels fate.

Meanwhile, Danilo Gallinari scored 28 points and teammate Gary Harris added 23 as the Nuggets closed the gap on Portland for the eighth and final playoff spot. The Pelicans and Nuggets will meet again, Friday night in the Mile High city.

The Pelicans finished the season 21-and-20 at home.
