NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in a fatal Tuesday morning shooting on Bourbon Street.

Luis Conde is currently recovering in University Medical Center from unknown injuries after SWAT team members stormed a home in the 800 block of Bourbon Street after no one answered knocks on the door for a wellness check.

Some SWAT officers positioned themselves on nearby balconies and rooftops while others smashed through the front door about an hour after the initial call.

A warrant for second-degree murder will be served on Conde and he will be taken to central lock up after he is released from the hospital.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was found lying on the floor of the home suffering from an “unspecified trauma.”
