BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) -

It has become a premier destination for the NFL pre-draft circuit, LSU held its pro day today. Of course, the Saints were in full attendance, but this year there was a different connection. New Tiger head coach Ed Orgeron was once an assistant for Sean Payton.

"Sean and I have a great relationship and hopefully he gets one of our guys. I know he would love to have one," said Orgeron.

"I love Ed, really happy for him, happy for LSU to have Ed. I think he is a great Coach and think he'll be a great head coach here for LSU, said Saints GM Mickey Loomis. "Obviously we have a connection, a personal connection. I think more important than that is, man, I think he is a super head coach. He brings a lot of enthusiasm and love for the state and for LSU all the things that are really good. He has put together a really good staff. So I'm looking forward to watching these guys play over the next few years and excited for our state."

Orgeron and Payton spoke at length on multiple occasions Wednesday. The Saints haven't drafted an LSU player since 2010. Perhaps this could be the year that drought comes to an end.

From the fast turf and climate controlled confines of the Superdome last week to the slick grass and wind and rain of Lambeau Field this week, the contrast in conditions contributed to the contrast in style of play for the Saints on Sunday.
