NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Facebook engineers hope adding a new tool to their social media sites will protect users from revenge porn.

They're launching photo-matching technology designed to ensure intimate, non-consensual images that are reported once can't be uploaded again. The service spans all Facebook properties, including Messenger and Instagram.

If a user tries to post a reported image, the company will inform the user the photo violates Facebook policy.
