French Quarter Fest should see a great weather weekend

Second day of French Quarter Fest

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The party rolls on at French Quarter Fest Friday.

Thursday the festival kicked off with a parade down Bourbon Street.

The first performances begin at 11 a.m. on more than a dozen stages.

Today's performers include Irma Thomas, Charmaine Neville, and the Lagniappe Brass Band.

French Quarter Fest is free and runs through Sunday.

Weather for the weekend will be near perfect.

Saturday morning low temperatures will be in the mid-40s on the north shore and low-50s on the south shore.

Through the weekend, the area will see sunshine and temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 70s.

Sunday will rise to near the 80-degree mark.

No rain is expected.
