NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are searching for a 12-year-old girl who is reported missing from Canal Street. A'Lyri Elexis Smith was last seen by her mother, Sunday around 8:50 p.m. in the 700 block of Canal.

Police say that Smith was with her mother and siblings outside of a McDonald's restaurant. Her mother told investigators that she looked away for a few minutes, but when she looked back towards her children, Smith was not there. Investigators were notified by two security guards that Smith was seen walking towards the Mississippi River on Canal Street with two unknown young black men, just moments after her mother reported her missing to police. A description of the two males or surveillance video was not available, according to police.

A'Lyri Elexis Smith is described as a black female, who is 5-foot-9, weighing 120 pounds. Her hair style is described as a single crown braid. She was last seen wearing the same clothes in the above photo.
