The Mandeville Police Department fired Officer Becky White after an internal affairs investigation concerning an off-duty incident in Ponchatoula on March 27.

White had previously been on administrative leave after allegations surfaced that she had driven her marked Mandeville police unit while intoxicated.

“Overall, the men and women of the Mandeville Police Department do a great job for our citizens. However, any behavior that impeaches their credibility or which can potentially erode public trust will not be tolerated,” Mandeville Police Chief Gerald Stricker said.

White, a former member of the New Orleans Police Department, was Mandeville’s public information officer.

The investigation involved an incident where White was in her police vehicle in the parking lot of Sophie's Porch Bar on Hwy. 22.
