(WVUE) - LSU 2017 quarterback signee Lowell Narcisse early enrolled this Spring, so he's already learning Matt Canada's system. The other QB in the class, Myles Brennan, can't enroll until the summer.
Every day he's at St. Stanislaus doing workouts with former teammates, preparing as much as he can to be a Tiger.
"It's been difficult. We ended our high school season it seems like years ago, but it was just last November," said Brennan. "Ever since then it's just been working out. I got my LSU workout book, I've been getting the spring installs as they've been doing it. It's been tough, not being there taking reps. I've gone down and got as many mental reps as possible. Fortunately I'm going to be out here at Stanislaus and help this spring. I'll be out here helping the younger guys out, and stay in shape. I run almost daily, throw, do my workouts. It's a little different, usually I would be in spring training right now, I'm just itching to get to LSU."
There's an extra zip on Brennan's fastballs these days. After the Under Armour All-star game, he shut down passing for two months. The break gave Brennan's arm some much-needed rest, and now the cannon is fresh for the Tigers.
"That was just really to give my shoulder a break. It wasn't me just being lazy. I felt like after my whole high school career I never had more than two weeks off. That was after our season had ended in December, or the previous years. So I was just giving my shoulder a break, letting it recover. Since the last week of March, first week of April, it's been a constant throwing and running," said Brennan.
Brennan graduates from St. Stanislaus in late May, then the very next week he's on LSU's campus for summer workouts.
