TERREBONNE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A Houma man was killed in a single-vehicle accident after his pickup truck overturned and landed upside down in a Terrebonne Parish drainage ditch.
Wednesday morning, just before 7:15, Louisiana State Police responded to the scene on Valhi Boulevard south of Savanne Road.
Nicholas Braud, 21, of Houma, was killed when he failed to negotiate a left turn and went off the right side of the road.
Police say Braud then over corrected and swerved off the left side of the road.
The pickup truck then flipped and landed on its roof in a drainage ditch.
Braud sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's office.
Investigators could not determine if Braud was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident or whether impairment was a factor.
Investigators are waiting on the results of toxicology analysis from the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
This crash remains under investigation.
