NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Saturday looks to be very warm with temperatures possibly flirting with record highs in the upper 80s to maybe near 90 in spots.
A strong cold front will approach our area late Saturday and bring a chance for showers and storms by late afternoon and early evening. There is a risk for a few strong to severe storms on both sides of the lake with the best chances closest to Mississippi.
Much cooler air will sweep across the region overnight and during the day on Sunday. In fact, temperatures may stay in the 60s all day Sunday with a strong northwesterly wind.
Next week looks warm, sunny and dry with no rain in the forecast. By the end of next week, the summer-like muggies will set in for the beginning of Jazzfest.
