FBI New Orleans investigating bank robbery in French Quarter

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Members of the FBI New Orleans Division are investigating a bank robbery in the French Quarter.

The incident occurred Monday at about 3 p.m. in the 400 block of Chartres Street, just steps away from the NOPD's Eighth District headquarters. 

An FBI spokesperson says that a white man entered the bank, walked up to the counter and gave the teller a note which read that he had a weapon and demanded money. The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. 

The suspect is described as between 30-40 years of age, 6-feet tall, with a medium build and brown hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black baseball hat, a black t-shirt and had a black backpack
