NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Winds will be on the increase Wednesday along with some clouds as the next storm system approaches the area. Humidity and temperatures will also increase with highs well into the 80's. The best chance for rain will fall overnight Wednesday. There is a small chance for a strong storm mainly north of the lake but overall the rain won't last long or be that strong.
Warm sun returns on Thursday with not as much wind.
A southerly breeze will begin to crank up on Friday evening, and we'll be downright windy over the weekend. The winds will be strong enough to possibly cause some interference with outdoor activities. Stay tuned for possible advisories or warnings later this week regarding the wind.
In addition, there could be a few stray storms on Saturday, but the best chance for widespread storms this week will come on Sunday. There is the possibility of severe weather with this system but we are still many days away and a lot can change. Drier air arrives for the beginning of next week behind the storms.
