Woman escapes suspected kidnapper, gets picture of car

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An 18-year-old woman was able to escape from an alleged kidnapper in eastern New Orleans, but not before snapping an image of the vehicle used by the perpetrator.

The New Orleans Police Department is looking for a white sedan used during the attempted kidnapping on Sunday around 6 p.m. near Dwyer Rd. and Flake Ave.

Officers said the white sedan was parked in the area. An unknown black man got out of the vehicle, approached the woman, telling her that she was coming with him.

The perpetrator grabbed the victim's arm and began pulling her toward his vehicle, officers said. She was able to break free and flee the location. During the struggle, she took photographs of the vehicle. The NOPD believes it's a 1990-2000 Dodge sedan.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5'9" with a heavy build, bald head and gray goatee. There is a dark birthmark on the right side of his face, police said.
