(WVUE) -

As the overnight rain and cloud cover clear out, highs will reach back into the low to mid-80s this afternoon.

Expect mainly dry skies and warm conditions.

Overnight, lows will only fall to the upper 60s on the north shore and low 70s south shore.

Friday and Saturday will feature the warmest weather of the year so far with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

A stray shower is possible Friday morning, and a pop-up storm can't be ruled out Saturday afternoon, but the wind is what most will notice. Stay tuned for possible advisories or warnings as the weekend nears.

Widespread rain and thunderstorms will arrive on Sunday. There is the possibility of strong to severe storms during the afternoon and evening hours.

Drier and slightly cooler air will follow the storms for a nice start to next week.
