NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A major storm is moving out of the Rockies and heading into the Plains. That means we will see our winds increase significantly on Friday and Saturday. Wind gusts over 30mph will be common both days.
The weekend starts dry except there may be a stray storm on Saturday.
Widespread rain and thunderstorms will arrive on Sunday. There is the possibility of strong to severe storms during the afternoon and evening hours. It's too early to know just how bad the storms will be, so keep checking in with fox8live.com for more updates. Drier and slightly cooler air will follow the storms for a nice start to next week.
Another strong storm system may affect us by the middle of next week with a good chance for rain on Wednesday and possibly lasting into Thursday as well.
