Sports Minute: Here is the latest Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi sports news from The Associated Press

METAIRIE, La. (AP) - New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis says the club has signed the second of its two first-round draft choices, offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk. Loomis says the 6-foot-6, 314-pound Ramczyk, who was drafted 32nd overall out of Wisconsin, has signed a four-year contract. Ramczyk's signing means all seven of New Orleans' draft choices are under contract in advance of training camp.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) - A person familiar with the situations says the New Orleans Pelicans have made a draft night trade to acquired former Duke guard Frank Jackson from the Charlotte Hornets. The person, who spoke to The Associated Press Thursday on condition of anonymity because the trade hasn't been announced, says New Orleans received Jackson, the 31st overall choice in the NBA draft, in exchange for the Pelicans' 40th overall draft choice and cash. Yahoo Sports first reported the deal.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - LSU coach Paul Mainieri says whether Florida State's Mike Martin ever wins a national championship should have no bearing on how his long career in college baseball is judged. Mainieri's Tigers beat FSU 7-4 in a College World Series elimination game. An unprompted Mainieri said too much has been made about Martin having never won a national title in 16 College World Series appearances. Martin needs 31 wins to become the all-time leader in coaching victories.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Sean Wymer struck out national player of the year Brendan McKay in two key situations while pitching 4 1/3 innings of shutout relief and TCU was on the right side of two close plays in a 4-3 win over Louisville in a College World Series elimination game. The Horned Frogs jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead as one of their runs came on a play at the plate that withstood a video review. They'll play Florida on Friday night.
