COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

The mass shooting at a Colerain Township gender reveal party was "in no way random," police announced Tuesday.

Despite "significant resistance from several of the victims and witnesses," investigators said they have tied attendees of the July 8 party to three different drug rings.

Authorities expect the investigation to lead to multiple arrests, some relating to the shooting itself and more branching from associated investigations.

Until Tuesday, it had been weeks since police provided an update on the investigation into the deadly incident.

Three children and six adults were shot at what guests labeled a gender reveal party on Capstan Drive. Autumn Garrett, 22, of Indiana died at the scene.

Cheyanne Willis, who hosted the party, said she lost her unborn child during the incident, but police later revealed she was not even pregnant.

"From the start of this investigation, our detectives have met significant resistance from several of the victims and witnesses. This resistance involves the purposeful omission of key information and the fabrication of stories," Colerain Township Police Chief Mark Denney wrote in a news release Tuesday. "This affects the credibility of our witnesses should they be needed to testify and prolongs the investigative process. The harm that this has caused the investigation cannot be over-stated."

Police said they are sifting through tens of thousands of text messages, emails and other evidence.

"This tedious task requires a great deal of time. In no way has this investigation hit a dead-end or gone “cold”. New information is learned daily and interviews continue on a daily basis," Denney said.

Witnesses said two men in hoods entered the home in a seemingly targeted attack, opened fire and fled the scene.

About 30 people had attended the gender reveal party, but only a dozen guests remained when the gunmen entered the home late Saturday night.

No arrests have been made and police say there is no danger to the public in relation to the crime.

An anonymous donor is offering $10,000 for information that would lead to arrests.

The reward money comes as Colerain Township Police, Cincinnati Police and federal investigators search for the suspects in the case.  Little information about the shooting or suspects has been released.

Anyone with information is asked to call or text 513-470-7165.
